Note en français : Cette pièce est écrite pour quatre instruments à vents (bois ou cuivres), possédant une tessiture de deux octaves minimum en commun (dans la partition, les clefs de lecture -sol, ut ou fa- ne sont pas précisées, mais les quatre instruments liront la même clef. De même, en cas d'instrument transpositeur, les quatre instruments auront la même transposition, sauf dans le cas d'instruments en sib ou mib pour lesquels une partition est fournie).
Constituée de 26 sonneries indépendantes, cette pièce doit être jouée avant et/ou après le concert, lors de l'arrivée et/ou du départ du public. Les musiciens seront donc placés en dehors de la salle de concert (couloirs, jardins, parking, station de métro, etc…). Les musiciens pourront donc jouer à travers des ouvertures discrètes, cachés à l'abri des regards du public. Optimalement, ils seront spatialisés en différents lieux. Une autre possibilité est que les musiciens se déplacent parmi le public, la partition et "le chef d'orchestre virtuel" fonctionnant sur un smartphone attachés à leur instrument (ou avec un casque sans fil sur les oreilles pour suivre les click-tracks).
Les 26 sonneries sont identifiées par un système de lettre. Les sonneries seront interrompues par des pauses de longueur irrégulière, de 3 à 25 secondes, selon un choix fixé antérieurement. Les musiciens choisiront également avant le concert l'ordre de ces sonneries. La constitution d'un mot, avec ou sans signifiant, peut représenter un outil d'aide à la mémorisation. On pourra répéter plusieurs fois la même sonnerie ou au contraire l'omettre.
Une application informatique de "chef d'orchestre virtuel", Maestro, a été programmée, afin de coordonner les différents départs et les tempi. Elle est téléchargeable ici (version Max/MSP stand alone avec voix en français pour Mac) ou ici (version stand alone avec clictrack pour Mac Os Intel).
Notiz auf Deutsch: Dieses Stück ist für vier Blasinstrumente (Holz- oder Blechblasinstrumente) geschrieben, denen ein Register von mindestens zwei Oktaven gemeinsam ist (in der Partitur können die Schlüssel, die in der Partitur nicht vorgeschrieben sind, von den Spielern selbst gewählt werden; allerdings müssen alle Musiker im selben Schlüssel spielen [Violin-, Alt-, Tenor oder Bass-Schlüssel]). Werden transponierende Instrumente verwendet, so müssen alle vier Instrumente dieselbe Transposition verwenden, oder der Musiker soll die Partitur transponieren, ausser für die Instrumente in B oder Eb, für die eine extra Partitur bereitgestellt ist.
Das Stück, das aus 26 unabhängigen Abschnitten (Sonneries) besteht, soll vor oder/und nach dem Konzert gespielt werden, während die Zuhörer ankommen oder gehen. Die Musikern befinden sich außerhalb des Konzertsaals (in den Gängen, im Garten, auf dem Parkplatz, in der U-Bahn Station etc.). Die Musiker spielen an versteckten Orten, an denen das Publikum sie nicht sehen kann. Eine andere Möglichkeit ist für die Musiker durch das Publikum zu wandern, (mit dem Synchronizationssoftware auf einem Smartphone, oder mit einem kabellos Kopfhörer, um die „Klick“ zu folgen).
Die 26 voneinander unabhängigen Sonneries sind mit Buchstaben gekennzeichnet und werden von unregelmäßigen Pausen unterbrochen (Dauer: 3 bis 25 Sekunden). Sowohl die genaue Länge der Pausen als auch die Ordnung der Sonneries werden vor dem Konzert von den Musikern gemeinsam festgelegt Um sich die Reihenfolge einzuprägen, können die Musiker die Buchstaben mit einem Wort mit oder ohne semantische Bedeutung verknüpfen. Es ist sowohl möglich, eine Sonnerie mehrmahls zu wiederholen als auch sie nicht zu spielen.
Ein „Synchronisations-System“, Maestro, wurde gebaut, um die Anfänge und die Tempi der Sonneries zu koordinieren. Sie können es hier (Max/MSP stand alone Fassung, mit Stimme auf franz. für alle Mac Os) oder hier (stand alone Fassung mit Clictrack für Mac Os Intel). herunterladen.
This piece is written for four wind instruments (brass or woodwinds), which share at least two octaves of range in common (in the score, the clefs are not specified but the four musicians must determine which clef they will read (treble, alto, tenor or bass), and it must be the same for all the four musicians. Also, the four instruments must have the same transposition in case of transposing instruments, or must be able to transpose from the score written in C, except for the instruments in Bb or Eb, for which a score is provided.
This piece, made of twenty-six independent sonneries, will be played before or/and after the concert, as the audience arrives or leaves. The musicians will then be placed outside the concert hall (corridors, garden, parking garage, subway station, etc.). The musicians will play from locations that will not be visible to the audience. Optimally, the musicians should be distributed across different locations. Another possibility is for the musicians to move across the audience, with the score attached to their instrument (with the syncrhonizationsoftware runing on an attached smartphone, or with a wireless headphone).
The 26 independent sonneries are labeled with letters. The sonneries will be interrupted with pauses of an irregular duration (from 3 to 25 sec.). The sequence of the sonneries as well as the length of these pauses will be determined in advance by the musicians. The formation of a word from this system of letters, with or without semantic meaning, can aid as a mnemonic device. One may repeat the same sonnerie many times, or conversely, it may be omitted.
A computer software, Maestro, has been made to synchronize the beginnings and the tempi of the sonneries. It will be possible to download it here (Max/MSP stand alone with a voice in French for Mac) or here (stand alone with clictrack for Mac Os Intel). soon.
